Ask us about our personalized tours - Noel's "Favorite Places" tour takes you off the beaten track to various scenic spots. Our tours are designed with the customer in mind from a leisurely walk to a fast paced hike.  If you would like to see Western Newfoundland with us you will enjoy the history, tradition and flavour of the area with Noel or Trevor as your guide.

Here in Steady Brook we have the best of all seasons, spring and summer find the  Edgewater Inn a great centre from which to explore Western and Northern Newfoundland.. Gros Morne National Park is a 1 hour drive away and provides breathtaking scenery, lots of wildlife, hiking, photography and much more.  The North and South Shore of the Bay of Islands provides many places to explore, fishing communities, majestic scenery, flora and fauna unique to the Newfoundland climate. Visit "The Old Man in the Mountain" found in the rocks overlooking Shellbird Island in the Humber River, and learn his legend. The Heritage Tree in Steady Brook depicts thousands of  years of Newfoundland History through wood carvings.

Enjoy fishing!  Challenge yourself against the legendary Atlantic Salmon with our neighboring fishing guide Barry Carter.  Fishing licenses can be purchased to fish trout in the many Newfoundland waterways.

Take a walk out our front door and follow the path to Steady Brook Falls. Enjoy the sound of the falling water as it tumbles over 100 feet. Hike or bike  up Marble Mountain and overlook the Humber Valley and all the mountain ranges surrounding Corner Brook and the Bay of Islands. If you prefer a quite comfortable time, sit outside the Inn on a deck chair in the sun and enjoy the Humber River. Spot the occasional fisherman, canoe or kayak passing by, or listen for the fish to jump while the birds keep you company.

Here in Steady Brook we have the best of all seasons, winter brings skiing across the road from the Inn at  Marble Mountain (1600 feet vertical). A short walk from the Inn, Marble has plenty of snow and few line ups. (Ask Lisa about a packed lunch) Cross Country skiers can enjoy 40 km of groomed cross country trails at Blow Me Down Ski Park at short 15 minute drive from the Inn (shuttle service available). Adventure skiing on the Appalachian chain can also be enjoyed at Blomidon Cat Skiing, you can ski 12 to 14,000 feet daily vertical!

We hope you enjoy your stay with us, please check the links and events for things to do.
